Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes. Each custom knife is made by hand.
Machines and professional tools are used where they belong, but the knife is not defined by machinery. It is defined by judgment, handwork, fit, finish, and the final feel of the piece.
-
Both.
They are built first as tools. Collectors may value them for their rarity, craftsmanship, and lineage, but every knife is made with function at its core. A knife should carry well, cut cleanly, lock with confidence, and endure real use.
-
A custom knife carries the attention of the maker in a way mass production cannot reproduce.
Every grind, contour, lock interface, finish, and final adjustment is handled with direct intent. The result is not a repeated object. It is a finished piece shaped by hand, experience, and standard.
-
I use proven materials selected for strength, durability, reliability, and feel.
Depending on the knife, this may include titanium, premium blade steels, carbon fiber, Micarta, G-10, and other materials suited to serious knife construction. Nothing is chosen just to fill a spec sheet. Every material has to earn its place.
-
Available knives will be released through announced drops, lotteries, or other limited formats depending on the piece.
Because each knife is handmade, availability will be limited. When a knife is gone, it may not return in the same form.
-
Custom order availability may vary.
If and when books are open, details will be announced through the website or official channels. Until then, lotteries are the best way to acquire a knife.
-
Because they are made by hand, and the standard matters.
I would rather make fewer knives correctly than increase volume at the expense of fit, function, finish, or intent. Limitation is not a marketing trick. It is the cost of doing the work properly.
-
It means the knife carries more than material and machining.
A knife with soul reflects the maker’s judgment, discipline, philosophy, and restraint. It has a reason behind its lines and a purpose behind its construction. It is not simply assembled to exist.
-
No. My knives are designed and sold as cutting tools.
Their purpose is function, craftsmanship, utility, and responsible ownership. Any use beyond that is the responsibility of the owner and must comply with all applicable laws.
-
Knife laws vary by location.
It is the buyer’s responsibility to understand and follow all applicable local, state, and federal laws before purchasing, owning, carrying, or using any knife.

-
Service availability depends on the knife and the issue.
If your knife needs attention, contact me with clear photos and a description of the problem. I will review the situation and let you know what can be done.
-
Do not use it as a pry bar, screwdriver, chisel, punch, throwing tool, or impact tool.
A knife is a tool, but it is a cutting tool. Misuse can damage the knife, compromise its function, and create unsafe conditions.
